Images from the Past

Sarah, one of the 20 other delegates just forwarded the following:

"Hi all! Hola a todas!
Yesterday, a colleague sent me the below link to a short film about the work of disabled women at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995.
The film itself was produced about 15 years ago but has only recently been made available on YouTube. It is about 13 minutes long and is captioned in English. I commend it to you as we finish up preparations for UNCSW."

  And in Spanish she provided....

Back in the Canoe, paddling to NYC.

It has been a very long time since I posted.  November 2012.

BUT I AM BACK.

WHY?

I am one of 20 individuals that will be representing The Episcopal Church, actually the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Episcopal Church.  Am I excited.  And so honored

YOU BET.

So, I start sharing my adventure on this day, the International Women's Day.  Many events are happening at the UN.

The 2016 theme for International Women’s Day is “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”. The United Nations observance on 8 March will reflect on how to accelerate the 2030 Agenda, building momentum for the effective implementation of the new Sustainable Development Goals. It will equally focus on new commitments under UN Women’s Step It Up initiative, and other existing commitments on gender equality, women’s empowerment and women’s human rights. - See more at: http://www2.unwomen.org/en/news/in-focus/international-womens-day#sthash.33bmyBdJ.dpuf
